Harbor Grove Care & Mobility TeamWe serve anyone who needs safe, professional medical transport — regardless of age, mobility level, or condition.
HarborGrove Care & Mobility was founded on a simple belief: every person deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
"To many people, they were just bicycles. To us, they were a reminder that even the simplest acts of kindness can change someone's life."
Harbor Grove FoundersLong before HarborGrove existed, those values were part of our everyday lives.
We were born and raised in Ethiopia, where caring for others—especially elders—is deeply rooted in the culture. From a young age, we were taught that serving others isn't just an act of kindness; it's a responsibility. Respecting our elders, helping our neighbors, and treating every person with compassion were simply part of who we were.
In 2011, our lives changed forever when five of us were adopted by a loving family here in Idaho.
Arriving in a new country brought many challenges. We spoke very little English, everything around us was unfamiliar, and we were learning how to navigate a completely different world. Yet from the very beginning, the people of Idaho welcomed us with open arms. Teachers, neighbors, churches, and complete strangers showed us patience, generosity, and kindness that we will never forget.
One memory has stayed with us ever since.
To many people, they were just bicycles.
To us, they were a reminder that even the simplest acts of kindness can change someone's life.
That moment became part of who we are.
It taught us that when people are treated with dignity, generosity, and compassion, they don't just remember the gift—they remember how they were made to feel.
Today, HarborGrove Care & Mobility exists because we want to create that same feeling for others. Whether we're taking someone to a medical appointment, helping a client safely into one of our vehicles, or simply sharing a conversation during the ride, we believe every interaction is an opportunity to serve with kindness.
Our hope is that every person who rides with HarborGrove feels valued, respected, and cared for—because that's the same kindness that was once shown to us.
We care for every client the way we would care for our own family.
Every person deserves to be treated with dignity regardless of age, ability, or circumstance.
When someone depends on us to get to a medical appointment, we understand what's at stake.
We believe trust is earned through honesty, professionalism, and consistency.
We believe transportation is more than getting someone from Point A to Point B. It's an opportunity to make someone's day a little easier and remind them they matter.
When five of us arrived in Idaho from Ethiopia, we spoke very little English. Our community welcomed us with kindness that changed our lives. One afternoon we came home from school to find five bicycles waiting for us on our front lawn. Someone saw a need and quietly met it. We've never forgotten that act of generosity.
Community Care Sundays is our way of paying that kindness forward.
One Sunday each week, HarborGrove serves a different Treasure Valley community by offering a limited number of complimentary rides.
If our story resonates with you, we invite you to join us in making a difference in the lives of others. One meaningful way to give back is by supporting organizations like the Meridian Senior Center, a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors in our community through connection, resources, and compassionate care. Whether through volunteering, donating, or simply spending time with an older neighbor, every act of kindness makes a lasting impact.
As HarborGrove continues to grow, we also hope to extend that same spirit of compassion to seniors in Ethiopia, where many older adults have little support beyond their immediate families. Our vision is to give back to both the community that welcomed us with open arms and the country where our journey began.
We believe kindness has a ripple effect.
Someone once changed our lives with five bicycles sitting on a front lawn.
Today, we're simply trying to create that same feeling for someone else—one ride at a time.
